American Spirit Karting

American Spirit Racing's go-kart team won a 3-hour endurance race at Sebring
International Raceway on June 14.

It was the team's second win of the year and fifth straight podium finish,
racing in the International Motorsports Academy event.

One of the team's three drivers, Ann Hayden, of Cape Coral, had the second
fastest time ever on the course of 25.141 seconds. It came on the 381st of
407 laps completed by the team.

Hayden, along with drivers Michael Johnson of Naples and Tim Bambu of
Sebring, had a four-lap lead on the eight-team field when the checkered flag
dropped.

The karts are equally prepared but the American Spirit Racing team had the
pole and led all but one of the 407 laps. The only time the team
relinquished the lead was during the mandatory three-minute stop for
fueling.
