American Spirit Racing currently has one driver position available for its second entry in the 2008 Firestone Indy Lights Series.
American Spirit Racing possesses a 21 year history of managing front running entries in just about all of North America’s top professional auto racing series, including: IndyCar, American Le Mans, Trans-Am and IMSA GTP. American Spirit President Jon Lewis’s vast experience also includes holding the position of Vice President of Marketing for the North American Touring Car Championship, the 2006 Championship winning Team of Germain Racing in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and the National Survival Game (founders of the sport of Paintball).
American Spirit Racing drivers receive a full season behind the wheel of the most professionally prepared and engineered racecars in the Series and all official Firestone Indy Lights Series test days. The Firestone Indy Lights Series prize fund increased to almost $4 million in 2007, with feature events carrying a $40,000 1st place prize and pays strongly throughout the field with 15th place paying approximately $10,000. American Spirit Racing drivers receive marketing, promotional and PR management support.
The Firestone Indy Lights Series features carbon-fiber chassis open-wheel cars, built by Dallara, the same manufacturer of those in the IndyCar Series (exceeds the FIA Formula 1 crash test requirements). It’s a very competitive environment with strict controls on cost containment. Firestone Indy Lights Series races are held at some of the most prestigious and highly attended racing venues in North America, including the Indianapolis 500. Now, with a 2008 schedule that features 8 road course and 8 oval races, drivers will be able to experience and excel in all disciplines of open wheel racing. It’s a plain fact that if you’re going to race in America’s premier open-wheel series, you need to race on ovals.
